YES!  This is really bad for your car.  If your car is doing that you should sell it because it means the engine is going to blow up real soon.  I have seen it happen so many times before I can't count that high!  APRIL FOOLS!

seriously though, you should be all right.  you might be a tad bit rich but flames will come out of our cars w/ a straight exhaust (catless w/ hi flow mufflers).   Smiley

hold on....   i can hear someone typing now....   ohhh ohhh...  i am sure someone will chime in and disagree but it is really common w/ catless tbe.

^ What he said, it just means you're running rich and gas is igniting in the exhaust...

Not a real problem if it's not happening all the time...

It doesn't necessarily running richer than normal, but it is normal.  Every car doesn't have anywhere near 100% efficient combustion. Thats why we have have cats  Wink  You took your cats off so there's nothing there burning the excess fuel.  Your fine and enjoy the fireballs, because I have to admit, those things are friggin awesome at night during downshifts!!

I don't think there really is anything to be alarmed about however it generally means you have a rich mixture.  Any off the shelf map will be rich for safety sake.

The main cause for these fireballs is when you have a leak in your exhaust and air is getting in.  Most commonly near the downpipe-catback.  Look for soot around where the gasket meets.

Are you getting loud pops with your fireballs?  That would be afterfire where unburnt exhaust gasses get ignited in the exhaust.  Generally extra air is needed but not always required.

You should only be alarmed if fire shoots out our own back end otherwise continue.

This guy is ok with it.

Yeah you should be alright. Like every one else is saying you are running a lil on the rich side. In my old car that was turbo I ran super rich lol. And would shoot out almost every time, when running hard, 2 feet flames its cool. Grin
